Frequently asked questions.

What is Integrative Psychotherapy?

Integrative Psychotherapy or Holistic Counseling blends evidence-based mental health approaches with holistic practices that support the mind, body, and nervous system. My practice weaves together talk therapy, EMDR, nutrition, neurofeedback, The Listening Program, and mindfulness to create a personalized path toward healing and resilience.

What is EMDR therapy?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that helps people heal from trauma, anxiety, and distressing life events. By engaging bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, tapping, or sounds), EMDR helps the brain process and integrate difficult memories so they no longer feel overwhelming.

How does nutrition play a role in mental health?

Nutrition significantly impacts mood, focus, and energy. I use a functional nutrition as well as a nutritional psychology approach to help identify imbalances that may contribute to anxiety, depression, fatigue, or attention difficulties. Simple, sustainable dietary strategies—sometimes paired with supplementation—can support brain health and emotional well-being.

What is neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is a brain-training method that uses real-time feedback to help regulate brainwave activity. Clients wear sensors while engaging in computer-based activities or games. Over time, the brain learns to create healthier, more balanced patterns, improving focus, emotional regulation, and resilience. Neurofeedback can be especially helpful for ADHD, anxiety, depression, and recovery from head injuries.

What is The Listening Program?

The Listening Program (TLP) uses acoustically modified music to gently stimulate and strengthen the brain. Through structured listening sessions, TLP helps improve auditory processing, focus, memory, and emotional balance. It is often used with children and adults seeking improved learning, communication, and sensory integration.

How can mindfulness help me?

Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention with curiosity and without judgment. It can reduce stress, improve emotional awareness, and enhance overall well-being. In therapy, we integrate mindfulness practices such as breathing exercises, guided meditation, and body awareness to help clients feel more present and resilient.
