My Philosophy:

I believe mental health is metabolic health!

In eastern and functional medicine, mental and physical health are understood as deeply interconnected, with a strong emphasis on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness rather than just managing symptoms.

One of the foundational principles is that imbalances in one system—such as inflammation, insulin resistance, hormone dysregulation, or chronic stress—can ripple across others, affecting both body and mind. For example, chronic inflammation and oxidative stress are not only risk factors for physical conditions like heart disease or diabetes but are also linked to mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety.

Therefore, I take a whole-person approach, often integrating many modalities. I have training in clinical mental health, nutrition, integrative health, holistic medicine, as well as in neurofeedback and EMDR. I also utilize music therapy, bilateral stimulation, and mindfulness therapies.

My philosophy is informed by personal experience and rooted in a passion to find healing that is permanent and holistic. Prior to stepping into this career, I spent over fifteen-years in the finance world as a corporate finance executive and portfolio manager. I hold a degree in Business Administration from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and a CFA Charter. I also have training in professional and life coaching.

About Me:

Originally from North Dakota and shaped by the values of my large German family, I bring both curiosity and tenacity to my work—qualities that inspire me to push boundaries and challenge the status quo. I am passionate about life and deeply value connection, especially the time I spend with my children and family.

My love of adventure has taken me around the world, including extended stays in Europe and Africa, enriching my perspective and deepening my appreciation for diverse cultures. Outside of my professional life, I immerse myself in the outdoors, classical music, theater, literature—particularly non-fiction—and the arts. These experiences not only fuel my creativity and insight, but also help me connect more deeply with others.
